Floyd G. Shon, M.D.

Dr. Shon is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. His practice focuses on injuries and disorders of the upper extremity (shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand). This includes treatment involving complex disorders of the wrist and hand, peripheral nerve injuries and microvascular surgery.

Dr. Shon was born and raised in Southern California. He received his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of California at San Diego continuing as a postgraduate research associate at the California Institute of Technology.

He went on to receive his medical degree from the prestigious Columbia University, College of Physicians & Surgeons and completed his postgraduate residency training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center / The Presbyterian Hospital in the City of New York and The New York Orthopaedic Hospital.

With a specialty interest in Shoulder & Elbow and Hand Surgery, Dr. Shon received specialty certification (CAQ) as a Surgeon and Research Fellow in Hand / Upper Extremity and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Washington, Children’s Hospital and Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Shon is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of many professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, California Orthopaedic Association, Orange County Medical Society and American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
