Jiun-Rong Peng, M.D.
Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr. Peng is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery and arthritis reconstructive surgery. He is one of the general partners of the Orthopaedic Specialty Institute. Dr. Peng's practice focuses on sports medicine and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.
Dr. Peng is a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the College of Medicine-University of California, Irvine. In addition, he is the team physician for the El Modena High School and the Santiago Canyon College in Orange, CA. He is also an attending orthopaedic surgeon at the St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Peng completed his orthopaedic residency at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. During his residency, he received the Orthopaedic Surgery Resident Research Award. He completed his fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery and arthritis reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Dr. Peng authored and co-authored chapters on foot and ankle topics in various works of orthopaedic literature. He is actively involved in the teaching of foot and ankle subjects to orthopaedic surgeons and allied health providers in Orange County and the surrounding communities.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. He was the past president of the Western Orthopaedic Association, Orange County Chapter. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also an active member of the California Medical Association, California Orthopaedic Association and the Orange County Medical Association. In 1999, he received the Care Award from St. Joseph Hospital Physical Rehabilitation Department. |
