
Brian Hwang, M.D.Board Certified Neurological and Spine Surgeon
Dr. Brian Hwang is a neurosurgeon and former U.S. Army Green Beret Medical Sergeant (18D)/Special Operations Combat Medic. He is also a neurosurgeon for the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
Dr. Hwang specializes in the disorders of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nerve. He treats various conditions including brain tumors, degenerative spine diseases, disc diseases, spinal tumors, traumatic brain and spinal injuries, epilepsy, depression, trigeminal neuralgia, failed back syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and peripheral nerve entrapment and injury.
Dr. Hwang graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City, NY. He completed his neurosurgery residency training at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He is one of the few neurosurgeons who have completed fellowship training in both complex spine surgery and functional neurosurgery, which gives him a uniquely comprehensive understanding of the nervous system. He also has extensive training in both cutting-edge brain and spine robotic neurosurgery.
