Jiun-Rong Peng, M.D. – RetiredBoard Certified Joint Replacement Surgeon

Dr. Peng is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty training in foot and ankle surgery and arthritis reconstructive surgery. He is one of the general partners of the Orthopaedic Specialty Institute. Dr. Peng's practice focuses on sports medicine and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle.

Dr. Peng is a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the College of Medicine - University of California, Irvine. In addition, he is also an attending orthopaedic surgeon at the St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, CA., and Hoag Orthopaedic Institute in Irvine, CA.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Peng completed his orthopaedic residency at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. During his residency, he received the Orthopaedic Surgery Resident Research Award. He completed his fellowship training in foot and ankle surgery and arthritis reconstructive surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Peng authored and co-authored chapters on foot and ankle topics in various works of orthopaedic literature. He is actively involved in the teaching of foot and ankle subjects to orthopaedic surgeons and allied health providers in Orange County, nationally and internationally.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and Arthroscopy Association of North America. He was the past president of the Western Orthopaedic Association, Orange County Chapter. He is also an active member of the American Medical Association, the California Medical Association and the California Orthopaedic Association. In 1999, he received the Care Award from St. Joseph Hospital Physical Rehabilitation Department.
