Michael I. Danto, M.D.Board Certified
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Dr. Danto is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, specializing in non-surgical treatment of orthopaedic conditions. His clinical practice is devoted to non-surgical management of spinal conditions and other orthopaedic problems. As part of non-surgical management of spinal conditions, he performs over 750 epidural injections per year. He also does electrodiagnostic testing (EMG).
Dr. Danto is an attending physician at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Orange, CA and has staff privileges at Main Street Surgical Center where he performs epidural injections.
Dr. Danto completed residency training at Stanford University Medical Center in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Before attending medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine, he managed the Orthopaedic Biomechanics Research Laboratory for the University of California, Irvine at the Long Beach VA Medical Center. He received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Biomechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego in La Jolla.
He is actively involved in continuing medical education and was the first speaker in the University of California at Irvine’s Pain Management Symposium on October 4, 2003. He speaks to promote community awareness to primary care physicians about new concept in management of low back pain. He has lectured at numerous national and international conferences and published numerous articles in orthopaedic literature.
Dr. Danto is a diplomat of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a fellow member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as being an active member of the International Spinal Injection Society and Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports, and Occupational Rehabilitation.
